  • Dave Phinney made a wine, The Prisoner, mainly from Zinfandel, in 2000. When he sold it in 2008, he agreed not to make another Zinfandel for eight years. 
And now there is a new kid in town - “8 Years in the Desert” (see what he did there?!) This new wine has aromas of brambly raspberry, black fig and peppercorn dominate; time in glass exposes more—dark chocolate, fennel and High Sierra forest floor.
